  "Putting the FUN back in the FUNdamentals"

             This is a hands-on, interactive workshop that focuses on teaching the FUNdamentals of grammar and vocabulary skills.  The workshop is suitable for elementary through middle school classroom teachers, resource specialists (LD, gifted, Title I), inclusion and substitute teachers. Teachers will learn how to emphasize active listening skills, independent decision-making, and cooperative learning while teaching and reteaching language arts goals without using worksheets.

          Workshop content will include interactive demonstration of innovative instructional formats. The emphasis for this session will be on teaching language arts, but the techniques will be useful across the curriculum. Some of the topics covered include parts of speech, heteronyms, homophones, classification skills, compound words, synonyms/antonyms, affixes,  multiple meaning words, and phonemic awareness.

        The lessons demonstrated in this workshop correlate with mandated learner outcomes and provide a fresh, exciting approach to teaching that will make your students GLAD to hear "It's time for language."

        Participants will be well engaged and never bored during this workshop as they learn to MAKE FUN of language!
