"Helping Teachers G.R.O.W." (Get Rid Of Worksheets)

This session will
help teachers learn how to emphasize active listening skills,
independent decision-making, and
cooperative learning while teaching
in their content area and without relying on worksheets. The formats
taught in this practical workshop are also useful for reviewing material for
state -mandated standardized tests.
Participants will leave the workshop ready to implement many instructional formats that will help foster an atmosphere of creative, collaborative competition that is guaranteed to bring out the best in every student.
An effective use of class time, these lessons will motivate students of all ability levels in large & small groups. The activities are useful, as well, in resource rooms, for collaborative teaching, for inclusion programs, and for substitutes’ plans.
Teachers will learn some new ideas and rediscover a few old ones that will add FUN and excitement to their classrooms and to their teaching styles.
