"Providing the Missing LinC"
(Language IN the Classroom)
|
Audience: Speech Pathologists; Title 1; Resource Teachers; Gifted & Talented; Language Specialists |
Levels:
Gr. 1-8 |
Length: 2-3 hrs |
Provide the missing “LinC” between the traditional pull-out therapy program and the regular classroom. This fast-paced, practical workshop will help speech – language pathologists develop a collaborative teaching model that integrates speech/language IEP goals with classroom task demands and language arts goals in grades 1 – 8. The LinC program helps speech students achieve carryover of targeted goals while being served in the regular classroom.
Authors of three books, Hisam & Seth, present a
variety of innovative, fun-to-use, educationally-sound formats for use in both
regular and resource classrooms. Benefits will be evident for students of all
ages, ability levels, and learning styles … and for teachers.
Participants will leave the workshop ready to implement many instructional
formats that will not only benefit communication delayed students, but also help
the “non-speech” students to become better listeners and more effective
students.
