"Providing the Missing LinC"  (Language IN the Classroom)

Audience:

Speech Pathologists;  Title 1; Resource Teachers; Gifted & Talented; Language Specialists

Levels:

Gr. 1-8

Length:

2-3 hrs

Provide the missing “LinC” between the traditional pull-out therapy program and the regular classroom.  This fast-paced, practical workshop will help speech – language pathologists develop a collaborative teaching model that integrates speech/language IEP goals with classroom task demands and language arts goals in grades 1 – 8.  The LinC program helps speech students achieve carryover of targeted goals while being served in the regular classroom.

Authors of three books, Hisam & Seth, present a variety of innovative, fun-to-use, educationally-sound formats for use in both regular and resource classrooms. Benefits will be evident for students of all ages, ability levels, and learning styles and for teachers.   Participants will leave the workshop ready to implement many instructional formats that will not only benefit communication delayed students, but also help the “non-speech” students to become better listeners and more effective students.
